DUBLIN, Ireland - In a strange suspected shooting incident that went down in Dublin on Thursday evening, a woman was believed to have sustained some injuries.
However, Gardai were alerted about the incident only after the 19-year-old woman presented at the Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
According to officials, the woman had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to her leg in an incident that took place shortly after 8 pm.
After speaking to the 19-year-old woman about her injuries, gardai learnt that the woman was injured in an earlier incident that took place in the Shangan area of Ballymun.
Subsequently, gardai said that they had launched an investigation into the suspected shooting case and were appealing for witnesses with any information to come forward.
Further, gardai said that they had preserved the crime scene at Shangan Green, adding that, so far, no arrests had been made.
The woman meanwhile, continues to undergo treatment at the hospital and her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
