DUBLIN, Ireland - In a moment of heroism, three customers at a Dublin pub tackled an armed robber on Monday night.
The three customers then held the robber there until the Gardai arrived on the scene.
After arriving at the pub, Gardai arrested the man in connection with the attempted armed robbery in the pub on the Firhouse Road on the southside of the capital.
According to the gardai, the man had entered the premises just before midnight and was armed with what is believed to be a firearm.
He then threatened staff and demanded a sum of cash.
The man was challenged by three people on the premises and was subsequently detained by the gardai and taken to the Tallaght Garda Station.
He is being detained under section 30 of Offences Against the State Act 1939.
Gardai said that the suspected firearm was recovered at the scene and has been sent for technical examination.
