Teenager arrested after drug bust in Cork

CORK, Ireland - Gardai in Cork made a drug seizure during patrolling on the south side of the city on Monday night.

Gardai revealed that they were patrolling on Magazine Road, when they stopped a group of people.

Upon a random search, one of the group members was found to be in possession of cocaine and ecstasy, which were seized from the teenager.

The teenager was reportedly in possession of approximately 1,300 euros worth of cocaine and 300 euros worth of MDMA.

Both the values are pending analysis. 

According to Gardai, the teenager was arrested on the spot and brought to the Bridewell Garda station.

He has been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The teenager has since been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
