Motorist charges through Porterstown Level Crossing

DUBLIN, Ireland – Gardai are investigating a breach of a closed level crossing in the city on Friday.

Just before 5:30pm a car crashed through the Porterstown Level Crossing, despite it being closed.

The crash caused considerable damage and delayed commuter services for a lengthy time.

“Criminal reckless damage caused to Porterstown Level Crossing by motorist, causing major delays to Maynooth, M3 Parkway, Longford/Sligo services,” Irish Rail posted on its Twitter page.

“Crews en-route to repair and control crossing. Gardai alerted to pursue culprit,” the tweet added.

Irish Rail posted a video of the incident on its Twitter page.
