Gardai appeals for witnesses after woman hit by tram dies

DUBLIN, Ireland - Gardai have issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed or has any information on an incident involving a woman being hit by a tram on Thursday morning in Tallaght, in south Dublin to come forward.

The incident took place between the Cookstown and Tallaght Hospital Luas stops, Tallaght bound, on Thursday morning at around 10:00am.

The woman pedestrian died as a result of injuries received when struck by the tram.

Gardai have also asked for witnesses who were on the tram at the time, witnesses who were on Cookstown Way or any motorist who may have 'dash cam' footage, to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 6666000, The Garda Confidential telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
