CO. LOUTH, Ireland - Two men in their 20s have been arrested in a search and arrest operation in the Drogheda and Mid Louth areas.
The operation, which took place Thursday, was part of the ongoing investigation by An Garda Síochána in the Louth Division in response to the issue of drug related intimidation behaviour in the Drogheda and Mid Louth areas.
The raid involved members of the Louth Divisional Detective and Operational Uniform Units, supported by a Unit of the Emergency Response Unit and two units of the Regional Armed Support Units, in addition to the Garda Dog Unit.
A total of four residential properties were searched.
The men arrested are being held at the Drogheda and Dundalk Garda Stations.
A vehicle was seized for examination, and a quantity of suspected cannabis and cocaine with an approximate value of €5000, along with a quantity of mobile phones were seized during the operation.
