More than 1,000 cannabis plants seized in Waterford search

CO. WATERFORD, Ireland - Two Vietnamese men remain in custody following their arrest on Thursday night in Waterford.

The men, aged 32 and 43, were arrested at an industrial property in the Waterford Airport Business Park, Co. Waterford around 6:00pm on Thursday night. As part of an intelligence-led operation Gardaí from Tramore Drugs Unit, assisted by the Armed Support Unit in Waterford were executing a search warrant at the property at the time. 

During the operation a substantial grow house was discovered. In excess of 1,000 cannabis plants at various stages of growth with an estimated value of €800,000 were seized. 

The two Vietnamese suspects are being detained at Tramore Garda Station.
