Assault in Dublin leaves man with serious head injuries

DUBLIN, Ireland - A serious assault has left a man in his 20s in hospital and a teenager under arrest.

The alleged assualt occurred in Dublin City in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses to the incident on South Great Georges Street, Dublin, which occurred around 2:45am.

Gardai while on patrol on South Great Georges Street came across the scene where they found a man, aged in his 20s, with serious head injuries. He was taken to St James's Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A youth aged in his late teens was arrested in connection with the incident a short time later and is currently detained at Pearse Street Garda Station.
