DUBLIN, Ireland - A man stopped after a short pursuit on foot by Gardai was found to be carrying Heroin with an estimated street value of €234,000.
The man was approached by Gardaí from Coolock Garda Station as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in the area.
The interception took place in the Priorswood area of Coolock D17 on Monday. During the course of a search of the man, Gardai say they discovered the drug. The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested and taken to Coolock Garda station where he remains in custody.
Follow-up searches in the Darndale and Santry area, resulted in Cannabis Herb with an estimated value of approximately €7,000 and an unspecified sum of cash being found.
The combined total of drugs and cash seized was €245,000.Investigations are ongoing.
