McEntee puts Ireland to fore in Washington DC

WASHINGTON, DC - Irish Minister of State for European Affairs Helen McEntee met with the Chairman of the U.S. Ways and Means Committee Richard Neal at Capitol Hill on Thursday morning.

She also met with U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, members of the `House of Representatives Mary Gay Scanlon and Pete King.

On the agenda was Brexit, trade, tariffs, the Godo Friday Agreement and E3 visas.

In the afternoon the minister opened the' Bridging the Atlantic Conference at Healy Hall at Georgetown University, where she gave the keynote address,

"The EU & U.S. are strongest when working together providing leadership," she said.

"Ireland can play a key role as the gateway to the Atlantic in a post Brexit landscape," she added.
