Two-vehicle collision in Cabra, Dublin claims life of youth

DUBLIN, Ireland - A teenage motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car in Dublin on Friday night has died in hospital.

The youth, in his late teens, was riding his motorcycle around 6:00pm on Carnlough Road at the junction with St. Finbars Road, Cabra, in Dublin, when he collied with a car. He was seriously injured and was rushed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with what have been described as non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene with local diversions are in place.

Garda are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the collision or any road users who may have camera footage prior to the collision to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 - 6667000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
