Sixmilebridge Village shooting puts 2 men in hospital

CO CLARE, Ireland - Gardai are investigating a double-shooting in Co Clare, which took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardai at Shannon are leading the investigation.

Early responders were called to a pub in Sixmilebridge Village at around 12:20am Saturday.

There they found two men with gunshot wounds outside the pub, one aged 21, and the other aged sixty-six.

The men were treated on site before being taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick. There injuries are not thought be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made to date and the scene is currently preserved for forensic and technical examination. An incident room has been established at Shannon Garda Station. Investigators were expected to hold a case conference later Saturday morning and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
