DUBLIN, Ireland - The Cabinet is considering a proposal to advise parents to limit their children's social involvement outside of school.
However, for the next several weeks, the proposal before the Government does not restrict youngsters from attending indoor community meetings.
The advice appears to be more subtle than the initial warning from the National Public Health Emergency Team last week, which aimed to reduce children mixing.
The wearing of masks from third grade onwards will be one of the measures explored, but there will likely be an exception for students with special needs.
The Cabinet will also consider measures that would allow compulsory hotel quarantine to be reinstated.
The measures resulted from a lengthy meeting last night between Government party leaders and senior public health professionals.
