CO MEATH, Ireland - A man in his early 20s died at the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision late on Tuesday night.
The crash tool place on the L5068 at Knockcommon, in Slane, Co.Meath around 10:30pm Tuesday night.
The driver of the vehicle received treatment at the scene from paramedics but subsequently died from his injuries.
His body was later removed to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital, in Navan, where a post-mortem will take place.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
The L5068 (just off the N2) remained closed Wednesday morning to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dashcam) is asked to make this available to them.

Separately, Sunday night, firefighter/paramedics from Swords and Finglas, along with gardai, attended a roll-over on the M1 at the service centre near Balbriggan. Firefighters worked withTIIT Traffic crews to clear the motorway which was blocked by the safety barrier. One person was injured and is now hospitalised.
