DUBLIN, Ireland - A man has been killed after being struck by a tram in Dublin on Sunday.
The tragedy occurred at Broombridge in Cabra, an inner suburb in the north of Dublin City, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardai and emergency services were alerted to the incident which is believed to have occurred just after 1:00am Sunday.
Gardai, in a statement, said they're now investigating a fatal traffic collision between a tram and a pedestrian at Broombridge in Cabra, Co. Dublin.
"A man, aged in his 50s, later passed away from his injuries. The man's body has been removed from the scene to the City Morgue where a post-mortem will take place in due course," the statement said.
"A technical examination of the scene has been completed by Forensic Collision Investigators."
