CO KILKENNY, Ireland - A man is dead after a single-vehicle early Friday morning collision at Carn in Dunbell, Co. Kilkenny.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash, which occurred at around 2:50am Friday morning.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 30s, died at the scene. His body has since been removed to St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny, where a post-mortem will take place in due course.

The road was closed to allow for an examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has any information relating to it, to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time who may have camera footage (including dashcam) is asked to make it available to gardai.
