Man in 40s allegedly stabbed in Santry, in Dublin 9

DUBLIN, Ireland - A man is recovering in the Master Hospital in Dublin, after being assaulted and stabbed.

The attack on Sunday night took place around 8:15pm at Shanliss Way, Santry, in Dublin 9.

Gardai and Emergency Services arrived at the scene following reports of an assault.

The victim, a man in his late 40s, was treated near the scene for apparent stab wounds and removed by ambulance to the Mater Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious but are not thought to be life-threatening.

"An examination of the scene has been carried out, and local enquires are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time," a gardai statement released Monday said.

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward and for those with camera footage from the vicinity of Shanliss Way and Coultry Grove areas at around 8:15pm on Sunday night to make it available to them.
