Youth in late teens killed in collision in Dublin

DUBLIN, Ireland - A teenage cyclist, critically injured when his bike collided with a pillar late Wednesday night, has died in hospital.

The crash occurred in a residential sector in the Fortunestown Lane area, in Tallaght, Dublin 24:at approximately 10:30pm Wednesday night.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the youth was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he later died.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators completed a technical examination of the scene in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Mac Uilliam Heights in Tallaght on Wednesday night between 10:00pm and 10:45pm and who may have camera footage (including mobile phone and dashcam) is asked to make this footage available to Garda.
