Man in 60s dies in single-vehicle crash in Tuam, Co. Galway

Investigation continues into Friday night's fatal car crash

CO GALWAY, Ireland - Gardai are appealing for witnesses after Friday night's fatal traffic collision in Tuam, Co. Galway.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 Friday nighon a local road in Blackacre, Tuam, late Friday night, when a single vehicle was involved in a collision. Emergency services arrived to find the driver, a man in his 60s and the only person in the car, unresponsive. He was taken to University Hospital Galway but was later pronounced dead.

The road was closed for a forensic examination by Garda collision investigators, with diversions put in place, but has since re-opened. The local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem will be conducted in due course.

Investigating officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
