Tragic Motorcycle Collision Claims Life in Co Monaghan

CO MONAGHAN, Ireland - A man in his 40s has died following a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Co Monaghan on Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred on the R190 at Lisnalong at approximately 1:20pm. Emergency services responded, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to Cavan General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The R190 between Ballybay and Cootehill remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene. Local diversions are in place, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have been traveling on the route between 1pm and 1:30pm. They are also asking road users with dash-cam or other relevant footage to come forward.
