CO GALWAY, Ireland - A man in his 40s has died following a serious three-car collision in Ballybane.
The multi-car crash occurred at Clareview Park at approximately 2:50pm Sunday afternoon, prompting a major emergency response. The driver of one of the cars reportedly collided with the other two. The driver, aman in his 40s was treated at the scene before being transported to University Hospital Galway. He later died of his injuried.
The drivers of the other two cars were also taken to hospital but were not seriously injured. Authorities have notified the local Coroner, and a post-mortem examination is expected to take place in the coming days.
Gardai are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash and have urged witnesses or those with dashcam footage from the area between 2:30pm and 3pm Sunday to come forward.
The fatal collision has left the local community in shock, with tributes expected to pour in for the man who was killed.
