Young Woman Dies After Collision with Car in Enniscorthy

CO WEXFORD, Ireland - Garda in Co. Wexford are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of a young woman on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the R702 at Curraghgraigue, Enniscorthy, at approximately 3:00 PM on Saturday. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman in her late 20s, was seriously injured and transported to Wexford General Hospital, where she later passed away. The male driver of the car, also in his 20s, received medical attention at the scene.

The road was temporarily closed to allow for a forensic examination by Garda collision investigators but has since reopened.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision—particularly road users with dashcam footage from the area between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM—to come forward.
