Fatal Crash Closes Road Near Tullamore as Gardaí Investigate

CO OFFALY, Ireland - A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in County Offaly late on Monday night.

The collision occurred at Ballina Cross, Annaharvey, near Tullamore, at approximately 11:50pm.

The driver, a man in his 30s and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was fatally injured. No other injuries were reported.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the man's body was later removed to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The R420 road between Geashill and the Cloncollig Roundabout was closed overnight to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. L

Local diversions were put in place.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the crash.
